Goodbye to SRSI Student Masarah Ahmedhussain!

05 August, 2018

Masarah Ahmedhussain is an SRSI student who joined our group during the summer for her internship. During her short time here she worked with mentor Xin Song, and by the end of her internship Masarah managed to make >10% effeciency solar cell devices! Well done and all the best!
I am a senior high school student studying at Dar Al-Tarbia Al-Hadetha schools in Jeddah. I am interested in a numerous number of fields, such as astronomy, nuclear science & engineering, and quantum physics, as I am curious and passionate to learn. Furthermore, Arabic calligraphy, reading, stargazing by a binocular, and rollerskating are my major hobbies. I am interested in volunteering and hiking as well.
I had good research experience in the pharmacologic field as I helped decrease the side effects of an orodispersible drug at King Abdulaziz University. Moreover, I participated with augmented reality glasses software in the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity "Ibdaa" and reached the finals as one of the 102 best research in Saudi Arabia among 5813 participants.
For this summer, I joined the Saudi Research Science Institute program for six weeks long. I chose material science and engineering as it overlaps many fields. Also, I was interested in solar cells due to the significant need for efficient harvesting of alternative energy. I am studying the effect of different annealing temperatures on the performance of the organic solar cells made of promising non-fullerene acceptors. For the future, I look forward to being a pioneer in the science and engineering field.
